Tips to purchase recon car

1. Exhaust
The car’s condition could be identified through the burning process in exhaust. Many of the grade A exhaust is white in colour. The one in old cars appear black or rusty. Customers always get trapped when purchasing used cars by merely looking at the painted car which has been modified and ignore this aspect.

2. “Japanese spec” / “Continental Spec”
There are two types of recon car which are continental specification (UK) and Japanese Spec. Generally UK users are rougher. In contrary, Japanese user seldom use the car due to the public transportation facilities available in the country and the country is smaller. That’s the reason for Japanese cars looked like new ones for recon Grade A.

3. Mileage
Many customers are cheated by the trick of some car exporter companies through the modification from high to low mileage rate. Therefore, we have to send our car to the authorized mechanic like Auto Bavaria or have a full checking scheme from them.

4. Car’s condition
Importer or car dealer usually will purchase Grade B and C imported cars and will then touch-up the entire car. Customers must be alert and not get confused of these cars which seem to appear nice but internally and technically, the cars have many problems which can burden the customers in the future.

5. A.P.
A.P. stands for approval permit. A.P is divided into two categories- Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah/Sarawak. AP Sabah/Sarawak is lower compared to Peninsular A.P. Therefore, customers who have little knowledge will get cheated with A.P from Sabah/Sarawak which the margin of the price is between RM10K-20K.

6. Year Make
Sometimes dealer or sales consultant will promote a car is in good condition. You have to look at the A.P. It is possible that the car is older than what you expect as it is made in different year.

7. Full checking and diagnosed from Auto Bavaria
If you purchase a BMW, Mercedez, I would encourage you to diagnose the car which it shows the historical record of the car. You will get informed of any problem and good performance of the car.
